Basic Saliva Test Kit
Your body’s stress response is largely regulated by the hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal (HPA) axis, which controls the production and rhythm of key stress hormones such as cortisol and DHEA.
The Adrenocortex Stress Profile Basic is a four-point saliva test that measures cortisol levels throughout the day along with morning DHEA-S, providing insight into your daily stress hormone rhythm.
Cortisol should normally follow a predictable circadian pattern - rising shortly after waking, gradually declining throughout the day and reaching its lowest levels at night to support sleep. When this rhythm becomes disrupted, individuals may experience symptoms such as persistent fatigue, poor stress tolerance, sleep disturbances or mood changes.
By measuring cortisol at four points across the day, this test helps identify patterns in your stress hormone rhythm rather than relying on a single snapshot, providing a clearer understanding of how your body is responding to stress.
Adrenocortex Stress Profile Basic Saliva Test Kit
This test evaluates key hormones involved in the body’s stress response and adrenal function.
Cortisol Rhythm
Cortisol is measured at four points across the day, allowing assessment of your circadian stress hormone pattern.
Samples are collected at:
• Morning (6–8am)
• Midday (12pm)
• Afternoon (4pm)
• Evening (8pm)These measurements help identify whether cortisol follows a healthy daily rhythm or shows patterns such as flattened, elevated or inverted cortisol curves.
DHEA-S
Dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S) is measured from the morning sample.
DHEA works alongside cortisol and plays an important role in:
• Stress resilience
• Hormonal balance
• Immune function
• Healthy ageingThe ratio between cortisol and DHEA can provide additional insight into overall adrenal resilience and stress response capacity.
